"Putting Hunger Center Stage"

Approximately 90,000 cans of food from the 19 colossal structures of the 5th annual CANstruction design/build competition will go to feed the hungry in Cook County. Chicago architects, engineers and construction companies—including Palmer-Tech—will show off their designs and engineering geniuses to aid in the cause to fight hunger. All cans used in the structures benefit the Food Depository.

Please bring your canned food donation to the Merchandise Mart, 1st floor lobby, and drop it in one of the Greater Chicago Food Depository Food Drive barrels. If you cannot make it during CANstruction, you can give to their virtual food drive.

We attended and displayed at the LatinCan Conference, which was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from February 16-18, 2011.

PTS is providing Lean Six Sigma training and consulting services to a major can and end producer in Mexico. This is the single largest beverage can maker in Mexico producing 2 billion cans and 8 billion 202 SOT ends. We provide training to their managers and supervisors.

We provided rebuilding services for their 595 necking system and CC95/93 trimmers. We installed new PTS push and knockout cams on the 595 necking system that runs over 2400 CPM at a plant in Guatemala. The first set of PTS cams have now been running over one year.

We are currently working on a new conveying system for the plant 500ml line addition. We are providing new in-feed and discharge conveyors for the 1800 CPM necking system. The project includes the design and supply of air single filer table, doubling box, air track, and elevators. In addition we are providing change parts for decorator, inside spray and light-tester machinery.

PTS supplies cupping and shell press overhaul parts for Redicon and Stolle systems. We provide the die set bushings, guide posts, retainers, stock plates, cylinders.

We have supplied two Standun B5 jack shafts this year to a plant in Mexico in addition to one that has been running over three years. In Australia, we have supplied (2) heavy duty aluminum swing levers for B5 Standun bodymakers.

PTS is now distributing US Tsubaki pin chains for can making industry. US Tsubaki is 100% manufactured in the USA. The chain is built for high temperature ovens and offers a removable pin for changes in can heights.

PTS is now offering cams for all can machinery including Belvac, Standun, Rutherford, Ragsdale, Alcoa, and other brands. We offer Belvac 595 necking system cams for the push and knockout operations.

PTS provides composite bushings for bodymaker ram housings. We provide bushing conversion for FBR housings and new LGS style housing with removable cartridges. We have supplied over (20) LGS cartridges and FBR housing conversions over the last year.

We attended and displayed at the GulfCan Conference, which took place in October 2009 at the Diplomat Radisson SAS in Bahrain.

We received an order from Rexam Mexico for new wet can conveyors project, which was installed in the first quarter of 2010.
